Welcome to the Loomis Long-Term Care Blog

The goal of  our blog is to keep you updated on the latest news and information about long-term care insurance including the potential effects of proposed legislation on long-term care insurance and related issues such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Even though the debate over raising the debt ceiling is over, many issues, including Medicare and Social Security, have yet to be resolved. We feel that changes involving age requirements and benefits to those programs are likely. Those changes will affect all of us, especially financially as the federal  government shifts more of the cost burden of health care to state and local governments and, ultimately to us. These potential changes make it all the more important to have at least some long-term care insurance in place in order to avoid having to invade our 401(k)s, IRAs and other savings to pay the expenses of long-term care.

We are interested in your thoughts, comments and questions about long-term care insurance and possible changes in Medicare and other government programs. You can leave a comment here or mailto:richard@loomisltc.com
